The preparedness of a nation for war, its psychology and strategies play a very important role from the point of view of its defence. Preparedness for war refers to having an armamentarium in readiness and holistic preparation of soldiers. Preparedness for war is an indicator of how one will conduct a war and psychology of a nation displays the mental preparedness during the course of war. How intelligently one uses both of them will be clear from the strategies one employs during warfare. There is absolutely no doubt that to emerge victorious in a war, one has to be prepared for war in the best possible way and that the mentality should be conducive for national interest. At the same time, one should also realise that the outcome of the war or the losses sustained, do not depend only upon a nation's superiority in preparedness for war over the enemy. Making use of the available soldiers and weaponry cleverly, is also extremely important in warfare. Strategies are ways in which the available resources are utilised at the time of actual combat. The better and more effective the strategies, the greater are the chances of victory. With intelligent implementation of strategies one can restrict one's losses and cause great losses to the enemy. Before planning a strategy, for it to be effective one should study very clearly the psychology of the enemy and the overall situation, consider one's objectives for war and also one's own qualities and defects. In every encounter with India, Pakistan not only utilises all the available opportunities but also creates opportunities where none exist. We have experienced this time and again. This text illustrates with examples how Pakistan makes cxcellent use of these opportunities to display its intelligent formulation of strategies. If studied in detail, one can realise the strategies of the enemy, how they are formulated, the basic objectives behind them, its strong points, etc. To prevent the enemy from becoming successful in its strategies, constant vigilance with respect to the enemy should be maintained. We pray to The Almighty to endow each one who reads this book with such vigilance.
