Students in any medical field must have the necessary cognitive, psychomotor, and affective abilities. It is taught to students through lectures and practical training. Certain sections are not covered in the conventional examination. The OSPE/OSCE tries to address these shortcomings by providing a broad-based format for assessing students on numerous elements of the courses. This book has procedural stations, response stations, and question stations for the subjects of Dravyaguna, Rasashastra, and Bhaishajya Kalpana, Agadtantra, Rognidan and Swasthavritta. It is a first attempt in Ayurvedic sciences with the modest goal of providing insight into the implementation of OSPE/OSCE for teachers and students for enriching Ayurvedic education.

Assessment is a key facet of any curriculum. Assessment is that aspect which has a major impact on a student's learning experience and refining assessment has a great influence on the quality of learning. Objective Structured Practical Examination (OSPE) and Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) is one such assessment tool based on the principles of objectivity and standardization that overcomes the bias of conventional practical examination.
OSPE and OSCE though widely used in modern medical sciences, is still not disseminated adequately in the Ayurveda fraternity. The two major principles of OSPE/OSCE are 'objectivity and structured' At the same time it demonstrates high level of validity and higher degree of reliability with a positive educational impact. OSPE/OSCE provide an opportunity to assess the communication skill, attitude and professional ethics along with cognitive and psychomotor domain. OSPE/OSCE can serve as an excellent assessment tool in context of competency based education.
This book containing OSPE for Pre and Para clinical or basic sciences including procedural stations, response stations and question stations for the subjects. It is a maiden effort in Ayurveda sciences with a humble to provide an insight to the implementation of OSPE for the teachers and students in basic sciences, catering to the enrichment of Ayurveda education.
