It gives us immense satisfaction today to bring out this compilation of Nectarine Nuggets of Sriranga Mahaguru. At a little over two hundred pages, the book, though deceptively small, epitomizes the sacred thoughts and value systems that have pervaded our culture and civilization over thousands of years.

The man walking amidst crowded lanes and myriad buildings is lost in the colourful trinkets and fanfare of the many fairs. But the one who soars high like the eagle can see clearly the plan of the entire town, its various entries, exits, the city centre and the set of hubs and suburbs that grew around it over millennia. Our situation is very similar to the man lost in the superficial scenario of the cities. We mostly live in glorious ignorance of our cultural riches amidst a vast cultural milieu that is millennia old. At other times, we pick curios from the museum of our culture to sometimes wonder and amaze at trivia. However Sriranga Mahāguru, like the divine eagle Suparna that soars high to the heavens, has brought to us the Amṛta or nectar bequeathed to us by the Rsis of yore. By flying high into the realms of Samādhi and Yoga, he discovered the lost city of our Rșis which dwells within us. The divine spiritual experiences of Samādhi and those that are experienced on the way to and from the pinnacle of Samādhi were at his beck and call.
