It is highly gratifying that this year the Andhra Pradesh. Government Oriental Manuscripts Library and Research Institute, Hyderabad is able to bring out a reasonable number of publication in Persian, Arabic and Urdu in addition to those published in. Telugu and English. The Research Journal Vijnana Saraswati, which has hither to been published in Telugu and English is now having the Urdu section also to cater to the needs of the scholars in Urdu, Persian and Arabic languages.
In fact, this library which has a total number of 23,161 manuscripts in as many as fourteen languages, maintains three fourths of its bulk in Persian (8,915), Arabic (6337) and Urdu (1674) manuscripts. p> Under the five year plan schemes attention has been paid to this manuscript library which is under the control of Education Department, Schemes such as Development of the research wing and publications could be of great help to these language sections of the department.
