Foreword I deem aa privilege to write a Foreword to the Book on Prof. KK N Kurup. congratulate Pruf P Chenna Reddy for bringing out a Felicitation Volume entitled "Nationaliam, Peasantry and Social Change in India in our of Dr. KKN Kurup, Prof.K KN Kurup is a famous Historian known throughout India. Dr. Karup is te me for over two decades and I was keenly watching his endeavours and achievements in the field of Historical and Folklore Studies. He had been a very active Director in Salarjung Museum and Director General of National Museum, New Delhi. He had been instrumental in planning and executing a number of important projects relating in Agrarian studies to his credit. He published many books and conducted many workshops and conferences Prof Kunip's name is synonymous with almost all the developments and achievements in the Calicut University in Kerala and South India that happened for over three decades from 1980 to 2010. He has published many papers in various research journals and conducted many national and international conferences. He is a member in various professional bodies. He initiated various academic programmes and served in various capacities. His major areas of research are documentation, archiving, dissemination and outreach activities This volume containing more than forty six articles contributed by various scholars will make a very valuable. reference work to the students and teachers in the field of History, Cultural Studies. This volume is a befitting honour to a scholar who dedicated his life to the cause of Agrarian studies. The volume, therefore, I am sure will be a fitting tribute to Sri K.K.N.Kurup for his sincere service to our great nation. I hope that both scholars and the interested public will receive the volume with profit and the honest and persistent efforts of a dynamic and well intentioned scholar Prof. P.
