Every country has its own brand of mythology. Our nation is a treasure house of classical myths and legends. The only other country which can perhaps equal but not exceed our mythological wealth is Greece.
You will be reading some mythological stories in this book. But this is only a drop in the ocean. You can as you grow older, dig up more and more from hundreds of books on mythology of various countries.
These stories are rich in fantasy and though at times unbelievable do fascinate the reader. Most of them have a message to convey but you'll have to think deeply to get at it. Otherwise it is lost and only the beauty of colourful imagination is realized. Most of these messages are good and beneficial to mankind.
A few stories do convey wrong messages and some messages are not acceptable in modern times. However, it is good to remember that these stories of absorbing interest were written thousands of years ago and with the best of intentions.
