Tirtha a strict and steady practitioner of Bhakti yoga within the confines of prison has again been inspired to help his fellow inmates understand more of the science and practice of the timeless art of Bhakti yoga. Tirtha skilled in the art of communicating this great science has mastered the practice of Bhakti in a most difficult and very unsupportive environment.
In his first book, The Beginner's Guide to Krsna Consciousness, Part I, alternatively titled, The Definitive Guide to Practicing Krsna Consciousness in Prison, we were introduced to the process of Krsna consciousness. The tenets of Krsna consciousness were explained, and we were provided with the necessary tools and information needed to begin the process of becoming Krsna conscious. We are now ready to go further.
Lord Krsna spoke the Science of Bhakti yoga to Arjuna in the Bhagavad-Gita giving the basic philosophical principles of the knowledge of the soul's eternal relation with the Supreme soul. In the 11th Canto, Sri Krsna again speaks this same knowledge, yet this time to His pure devotee Uddhava taking it deeper into the intricacies of the soul's eternal relation with the Supreme Lord. In the same vein Tirtha steps it up a bit to those who have had some exposure to Bhakti's basic knowledge and practice.
Those readers who are outside of the iron prison will get insight on how a devotee, despite the horrific environment of prison, can become a powerful spiritual agent to awaken Krsna Consciousness practice in the minds of his fellow inmates.
