How did the Panchatantra come to be? That itself is a story. A king had three foolish sons who did not want to learn. So one Vishnu Sharma was told that he had to teach them, and teach them he did, using the stories that we now read as the Panchatantra. Each of the tales he told conveyed lessons on the different principles of life.
