It is indeed a matter of joy that the department of Andhra Pradesh Government Oriental Manuscripts Library and Research Institute publishes, for the first time, an Urdu Manuscript relating to the subject of Lexicography duly edited by the departmental Research Assistant himself.
Of the 23 thousand odd manuscripts of this Library, about 17 thousand belong to the Arabic, Persian and Urdu languages which constitute almost three-fourths of the total collection and preservation.
The present publication in Urdu-namely Mustalhat-i-Thaggi- edited by Mr. Mir Karamat Ali, is only a modest beginning of the forthcoming publications proposed under publication scheme of the Seventh Five Year Plan. During the course of the Sixth Five Year Plan, the department got the following manuscripts edited by eminent scholars in Arabic, Persian and Urdu. The edited copies are ready for printing.
