It is really a happy and proud moment for me as I am going to release a book named "Music of Krishnanattam ".
In this book an attempt has been made to include all the musical aspects of Krishnanattam.
Hailing from the holy land of Guruvayoor, I was always fascinated to Sri Krishna Temple and the whole festivities over there, From my childhood memories Krishnanattam was always a mysterious untouched saga to the world over. Though it has all the histrionics and charm as of Kathakali Ramanattam; Krishnanattam and its existence made me curious to unscreen and go deep into it.
As a Musician I gave more importance to the musical part than the story lines. Although the chaste and unrefined art forms it now remains only as a temple affaire rather than an art form.
The way Krishnanattam deals the storyline is much easier to reach the mass depicting a scene by scene picturesque of the sequence of events through the nine nightlong plays. The culture and devotion are seen amalgamated into one through Krishnanattam.
This book deals with my observations and comments on this art form as a leading dance drama of Kerala, with my interviews and discussions with stalwarts of this subject, artistes and experts who walked before me. I'm really thankful to them to share their thoughts with me which really boosted my confidence.
