Rafat Saeed Qureshi is a distinctive Urdu writer with more than a hundred articles,. features, reviews and translations to his credit. His writings have been published at both regional and national level. His main contribu tion is in the field of art, culture, history and monuments. An activist in the field of history and monuments, he has been working with dedication for the preservation of monuments and creating awareness about the significance and importance of preserving and conserving the monuments for posterity and for promoting tourism. Rafat Saeed is a regular talker on Akashwani (All India Radio) and had con ducted a series of talks on Various monuments of India which attained immense popularity especially for its literary touch. His major I contribution to A.I.R was his feature on the famous Nehr-e-Ambari a medieval water system which was selected on all India level and aired for the SAARC countries especially due to the grave water problem in Asian countries. He is associated with various literary organizations. He was the President of Anjuman-Tarakkhi-e Urdu, A'bad for five years and is the Vice President of History Academy. Rafat Saeed has received special acclaim in the literary world of Urdu for his translations from English to Urdu in National Magazines like Aaj-Kal, Delhi which has huge readership.
Apart from these activities, he belongs to the traditional Handicraft family and has worked hard to preserve his family craft through thick and thin Qureshi has formed a Himrob Research and Development Centre of which he is the Chairman. This is a Non Government organization. The main objective of this organization is to generate employment for the economically backward people, keep the family craft alive and most important introduce innovate designs and change its utility to modern demands.
