DOROTHEA NÜRNBERG. (Mag. phil.). Was born in Graz, studied German and French philology in Graz and the Sorbonne/Paris, and engaged for several years in arts management. She lives in Vienna.
Her works include verse anthologies, theatre plays, prose, art photography as well as numerous literary contributions for art co- projects, catalogues, exhibitions, and the Austrian radio programme, ORF OI.
Besides her literary activities, she also contributes to newspapers and journals, and is a member of the PEN-Club Writers Association and honorary member of International Film & Television Club, Marwah Studios Complex, New Delhi.
For the past several years she has also been engaged in art photography and has held exhibitions in Paraguay, Brazil, and Vienna.
The Viennese aircraft captain Julian Kaiser and his ex-wife Tara, a distinguished Ideologist. Are the protagonists of this novel. Set in Europe and India. And embedded in a multi- layered, complex plot, its story is about searching and missing, about illusions and finding. Love in times of globalisation and the advantages and dangers of new forms of dating allowed by modern communication technology, are likewise addressed. Also, the stressed out Europeans' quest for the meaning of life in Eastern traditions of philosophy, which sometimes takes on the most curious forms, is also woven into this novel. As in her previous books Dorothea Nurnberg goes deep into the philosophy and spirituality of India. She takes the reader along with her in her passionate journey into the hearts of her protagonists.
