Book Description
About The Book

Despite being sired by one of the greatest sages of his time, the Kuru prince was not only blind by birth but also manifested several psychological infirmities as he grew up. Prodded by these frailties of body and mind, the prince, who ascended the throne of Hastinapur by an accident of fate, became an instrument for the complete annihilation of his own progeny, only to discover in the end that whatever had transpired was just a part of the cosmic drama and he was only playing out his assigned role. In the process extremes of human behavior, both positive and negative come to the fore. While some indulge in self-sacrifice to uphold their resolve and principles, others driven by intense desire and ambition cause the downfall and demise of their own well-wishers.

About the Author

The authors have to their credit three books: Karna, the Unsung Hero of the Mahabharata, published by Leadstart Publishers in 2015; Bhishma, an Enigma, published by Notion Press in 2017 and Pandavas in Exile, published by Notion Press in 2020. The current book is the fourth in this series.

Umesh Chandra Kotru, a specialist in accounts and finance of the Government of India, retired in 2010 from the Ministry of Power, after a distinguished career spanning decades of professional work in the Ministry of External Affairs, Indian Embassy in Washington, Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Environment and Forests.

An avid reader of books on philosophy, religion, mythology and fiction and a passionate aficionado of Sports, Umesh now divides his time between his two pursuits of the mind and the body.

Ashutosh Zutshi, the like-minded nephew of Umesh Kotru, is a technocrat with a difference. An electronics and communication engineer, Ashutosh is working as a vice president in a Japanese MNC in Delhi. At the same time, an inner urge for self-actualisation drives him to find some time mostly on the weekends - to pursue his other interests in music, social work and, of course, serious reading.
