The Magical Carousel A Zodiacal Odyssey
"A profound book about the true essence of the Zodiac and its twelve months."
The Magical Carousel, a path breaking initiation myth, for the new age. the Divine presence comes from within the children; they are the necessary ingredients for evolution to continue, and to understand the purpose of the Earth. The Zodiac is a living being; each of the signs is a different aspect of the Divine in evolution and it is the source of all myth.
Thea described The Magical Carousel as the New Myth for the New Age: It is the contemporary myth of the Supramental Manifestation... it is not based on older myths. as (Sri Aurobindo’s) Savitri was; it arises in the new creation and voices the Sours aspiration and light where it stands today: it answers those questions or conditions which we encounter today."
"The ancient books of knowledge are never confined to a region, a person, race, a creed. never 'historic' as we understand this term today. They always sing of a universal truth, open to all who can pierce the veils, at any point in time, and discover the wisdom that always speaks of unity, of oneness, because it is a harmony of the one and the many. The Zodiac is pre-eminently such wisdom, and only because its unity his been overlooked have seekers been led away from its higher message.
Patrizia Norelli-Bachelet (Thea) Founder and Director-Aeon Centre of Cosmology 1938-2016
In 1971 Thea was living in Rome and drawing up horoscopes for famous people in filmdom. But she knew there was something far more important about the zodiac than simply a tool for prediction. Flooded with inspiration, she wanted to write a book on astrology, one of a 'totally new order'. She saw each sign as part of a connected story - a script that had been in the heavens since the beginning of time; viewed together in one grand circle they described a cosmic journey in 12 stages. The story she envisioned would take the form of a fairy tale, and be a way to introduce young people to the wisdom known through the ages - a higher knowledge which has been veiled by the shadows of Time.
The details of taking the book in 1971 to The Mother of Pondicherry India (to 'the place of its origin') and its publication on 18 February, 1973 is described in the first volume of The Tenth Day of Victory. It was after Thea met The Mother that she began to realize the prophetic nature of all that she had written in 1970, prior to coming to Pondicherry. The Magical Carousel is the perennial story of the soul in evolution on planet Earth: "It is my story, autobiographical" she said, "and also the story of opening the new path for all souls."
Thea described The Magical Carousel as the New Myth for the New Age: "It is the contemporary myth of the Supramental Manifestation... it is not based on older myths, as (Sri Aurobindo's) Savitri was; it arises in the new creation and voices the Soul's aspiration and light where it stands today; it answers those questions or conditions which we encounter today."
More Information on the Author
Patrizia Norelli-Bachelet (Thea) was drawn to India in 1971 by The Mother of the Sri Aurobindo Ashram in Pondicherry. During her sadhana she received many keys of knowledge which led to profound realizations regarding the continuation and fulfillment of Sri Aurobindo's work in India and the world. The greatest key proved to be The Mother's original vision and measurement of the Inner Chamber of her Temple, the Matrimandir and its luminous core, which she describes as 'the symbol of the future realisation'. Another key was The Gnostic Circle, a term she used to describe the configuration of the Vedic year, with its synthesis in one circle of the 12 signs of the zodiac and the 9 planets of our solar system. The Tenth Day of Victory, in two volumes, is an autobiographical account of her initiation into the Supramental Yoga and the realizations thereafter.
Shortly before her passing, Thea wrote Ganga, Soul of indian Culture - Her descent to Earth, a short monograph which she believed captured most perfectly the essence of her applied Indo-centric cosmology.
In 1986, Thea established Aeon Centre of Cosmology (ACC), also known as Skambha, in the Palani Hills of Tamil Nadu, South India. The Centre- 17 km from the Kodaikanal main town - stretches across 30 acres of hillside and pastures, bordering the Gangavar River.
Aeon Centre of Cosmology is a field of application of the Integral and Supramental yoga of Sri Aurobindo, the Mother and Thea, centering around the establishment of a new way beyond science and spirituality-which seeks to lead humanity towards a truly new and harmonious world order.

`... If ever I were to write a book about Sri Aurobindo, this is the book I would write, like a sort of fairy tale... "Picture it to yourself like this - you see life, you see it as it is, you are used to an existence of this sort, and it is dismal and sad (there are people who enjoy themselves, but it is because they amuse themselves with very little!). Well, there is, behind all that, a fairy tale. Something which is being prepared and which will be beautiful, beautiful, beautifttl, inexpressible. And in which we are participating... You are not aware, you believe that when you die you will forget everything, leave everything, but it is not true! And all those who are interested in a beautiful, luminous, joyous, progressive life - well, they will all take part in it in one may or another. Now you do not know; after some time, you will... Voila."
'So, a fairy tale.
And the images, my child! All the outer images, like cinema images: of this activity, and this other, and another - a beautiful presentation. That seems to me the only thing that can really be said, because it is the only thing I see. So, one sees, one says, "Yes, but there is someone (Sri Aurobindo) who is trying to do something with all that. Look, look, at the beautiful image behind, a beautiful story...and he was trying to bring that story down on Earth, and the story is sure to come."
And if you want to you can as well pull in order that it descends upon Earth.
'What I myself see is almost a book for children. For a whole generation between ten and eighteen years old... thousands of childen - with beautiful pictures.
