Lokmanthan-2022 is focused on the theme Lok Parampara. The very concept of Lokmanthan is conceived as a 'Colloquium of Nation First Thinkers and Practitioners' that offers a common platform to not just intellectuals but all those who have excelled in their respective fields and contributed to realizing the idea of Rashtra (nationhood)
The Prajna Pravah is organizing the third edition of Lokmanthan, a biennial conclave of nationalist thinkers and practitioners, at Guwahati in Assam in September 2022. This year's Lokmanthan is focused on the theme Lok Parampara. Ahead of the national meet, the Prajna Pravah endeavored to bring out a compendium on the theme.
According to the Bharatiya point of view, the socio- cultural values and civilizational ethos that have shaped the fundamental ideals of our great nation have been evolved over the millenniums and nurtured by people from all walks of national life. The fountainhead was not intelligentsia alone; it was one of the many tributaries towards the stream of our national conscience. Somehow, owing to multiple reasons, we have lost the connection between different strata of society that had contributed to the process of nation-building. As a result, those who are at the helm of national re-building are uprooted from the ground realities of Bharat. Lokmanthan is an attempt to re-establish that relationship between intellectuals and practitioners.
Keeping this in mind, we have included articles on various topics, ranging from ecology to theatre with an underlying theme: the Lok tradition of Bharat. Here, we have to address two important questions.
