In the life of Bhagavan Ramana there are many unique things, first is his accessibility. He was available to his disciples, devotees and visitors round the clock. The second aspect is his absolute equality towards everyone. The rich, the poor, the learned and the ignorant, people in position and authority and humble servants were all at par. The third aspect is that even though his love was universal, every person would feel that Ramana regarded him as his own. As a result even though Ramana’s spiritual status as a jnani, a person of steady wisdom, made him Olympian, there was nothing that could not be shared with him.
Some of those who lived who lived with him have been able to communicate the wonder of Ramana’s presence through their writings in various books and magazines. This must be devine plan of Ramana enabling succeeding generations to relive those memorable from these accounts has been included in this book.

This year, 1996, is a momentous year in the Ramana Movement.
The Centenary of Ramana’s Enlightenment falls on the 17th of July 96. The Centenary of his advent to Tiruvannamalai falls on 1st Sept. 96. To celebrate these epoch making events, the Ramana Maharshi Centre for Learning, Bangalore, is planning to bring out 25 books in English.
This booklet is the first of ten such booklets planned on different aspects of the and teachings of Ramana Maharshi. Each would have a beauty of its own. Together they enable one to experience the continuing presence of Bhagavan Ramana.
