The book is a record of the impressions made on the mind of a reputed and experienced Journalist, expressed through different columns, in response to the various developments at the national or international level for the resolution of Kashmir dispute.

Though compiled from these columns, yet it gives a holistic insight into Kashmir situation from 1931 to the current times. The book exposes the inherent contradictions in Kashmir polity that immensely contributed to the Kashmir tragedy.

The student of contemporary Kashmir history will find the book very valuable and informative about the various aspects and shades of Kashmir struggle and the resolution of the dispute.

Zahid G. Muhammad born in Srinagar Graduated from Islamia College of Science and Commerce. Had his Masters in Literature from the University of Kashmir. He has been writing from his student days. He started writing in Urdu newspapers the Daily Aftab and Daily Hamadard, Srinagar. He Contributed articles on politics, literature, culture, and history to various newspapers within and outside country. He wrote for the Radiance, the Statesman, the Onlooker, Bombay, the Sunday Calcutta, Free Press Journal, Bombay, the Kashmir Times, Jammu, the Greater Kashmir, the Kashmir Observer, Srinagar and the Journal of Peace Studies, New Delhi Arab News, Express Tribune (International Herald Tribune) the News, the Post and the Washington Post. He contributed a weekly column for the Press Asia International New Delhi, reviewed scores of books on Kashmir history, literature and politics. He organized number of seminars and conference on Kashmir. He has written script for number of documentaries on Kashmir and has Publications.
