One may detest it, but violence is also a way of life. In order to survive, man has to commit crimes on the body of human beings as well as on nature. In the prehistoric period violence appeared innocent in nature and savagery, brutality had no human face. It was the sheer cause of survival, the raw need to claim territories, to get food from nature that prompted killings. Much of these stories lie beneath our histories except for archeological remains and the prehistoric paintings, which indicate such existential truths. As time progressed, man imbibed control and the ability to understand logically to what extent, how and when should force be applied to gain control over nature and the human body. We should not forget that from savagery to slavery, the human body has undergone huge trauma, torture and transformation to be in the present form of a human being. The Neanderthal man became defunct and has paved the way for the Nuclear man. This has been possible due to the technological discoveries and innovations that have helped man to be more cruel and violent, while camouflaging it under the garb of civilizational etiquettes. The point I am trying to make is that we often talk about different types of violence: war, terrorism, environmental hazards, gender issues, human rights infringement and so on but we generally tend to ignore or overlook the basic root of all such forms of violence which is economics. Basically, the predatory nature of man follows the predatory nature of economics. On careful observation, we will notice that all major conflicts and violence has its roots in economic hegemony over either individuals or small and under -developing nation-states. First came the idea of the colony, the direct rule in terms of physical presence, economics, trade, business and military and once the direct rule was becoming impossible to continue due to several reasons and was considered redundant as a policy the next phase was to rule indirectly and through economic power. A neo-liberal economy is the prime agenda through which a new virtual colony is established.
