Laghutrayi term comprised of Madhavanidana, garan-gadhara samhita and Bhavaprakaga, which are specialty books of nidana (pathology). Bhaisajyakalpana (Sarangadhara samhita) and Dravyaguna (Materia medica) respectively apart from that general nature laghutrayi are updates of ayurveda up to medieval period.

Most of the core of madhavanidana has been given table form quoting specific (pratyatmaka) hetu, parva rapa, rupa and upagaya of each disease as ready reckoner by which a student can understand obviously.
