Prof. K. Venkatachari,

M.A(English literature ), P.G.D.T.A (Temple Arts). Praveen (Hindi)

Date of birth : 15/02/1931. Retired in 1989 after serving in NGM College. Pollachi as Professor of English.

He is an artist. writer and photographer. He has participated in the art exhibitions of Lalit Kala Academy, Chennai and Chithra Kala Academy of Coimbatore besides a solo exhibition in KST Art Gallery. Coimbatore. Some of his paintings are with art lovers in India and abroad.

He has written articles on the glory of the temples of Kongunadu in popular journals like the Hindu, Indian Express, Bhavan's Journal. New Swathanthra Times and Sapthagiri in English and Kumudam Bhaktht, Dinamani, Aanmika Aalayam and Om Sakthi in Tamil. He has delivered talks on the same subject in Radio and Television.

He has contributed poems in English to'ALIVE' (Delhi Press), the New Swathanthra Times (Hyderabad) and the Poet International (Chennai) . He has also published a book of his poems titled 'The Glow of Dusk'.

The H.R.&C E Department of Tamilnadu Government has recognized his services . The Central and State Archaeological Department have accorded permission to take photographs in temples under their' control.

Recently his book on the 'Manifestations of Lord , Siva' has been public Ramakrishna Math Chennai.
