The Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine offers services in different fields of research, treatment of diseases, standardization of medicines, cultivation and production of medicinal plants, invention of medicines useful for many diseases. The council also carries out research programms and edition of rare classical medical books. Here they are translated to different languages and published in India and abroad.
This book is a comprehensive work on the topic. It is full of valuable information about treatment of diseases. It was written by Abu Bakr Mohammad bin Zakariya Al-Razi (died in 925 ad). The author was the greatest practicing physician of his times. He had no one to compete him in this field. He authored many books in medical and rational sciences. Little is known about his origin, lineage and life. However, the version more in currency, has it, that he was born and brought up in Rai. He was gifted with extra-ordinary intelligence and a deep insight of the medical profession. Its secrets and hidden treasures of the knowledge besides being very kind and sympathetic towards patients. A tharough gentleman and an outstanding physician, he left no stone unturned in discharging his professional duties.
To cut the long history short, it is said that the medical science was founded by Hippocrates again it become dead and was revived by Galen similarly, it was shattered, than was compiled by Al-Razi, it was incomplete and was completed by Ibne Sina (Avicenna). Of all the physicians of the medical ages, Al-Razi was the most prominent. He enjoyed fame and magnificence in the whole world and throughout the centuries till now. A physician at the then government hospital, he was very well versed in the medical practice which he carried out with the Unani Methodology.
