Dr. Vijay Prahlad Deo has been an educator and a Professor of Political Science at SP College for 35 years, retiring as Principal for the esteemed institute in 2001, very popular among his students for his multi-faceted personality and interactive teaching style.
Having written numerous social and politically inclined books, articles and think pieces in newspapers, monthly and weekly magazines; as well as earning his doctorate for his thesis, he has always been generous enough to lend his acumen and guidance to numerous students pursuing their own PhDs and M.Phils. He headed the Senate, Rajyashastra Abhyasa Mandala, and the Vidvat Sabhaa, and was a member of the IPA, IIPA New Delhi, ASRC Hyderabad and various other institutions.
An artist at heart, he has also participated in over seven hundred shows of dramatic readings of author G.N. Dandekar's novels, and has been the driving force behind Mrunmayee Publications, GoNeeDaa Durgapremi Mandal, The Durga Sahitya Sammelan and countless other social and educational programmes.
