The term Kasi means Glow. The glow of Kasi has spread in all directions. This radiance of Kasi has had perceptible influence on Tamilagam, equally ancient and radiating with knowledge and culture. The exchanges between the two have been long and impressive. They have shared and bonded through Knowledge, Spirituality, Silks, Arts, Poetry, Shaivam etc.

This connect between Kasi Nagara and Tamilagam is timeless.

This book and its cover is a humble effort to highlight this facet.

Authors Dr.D.K.Hari and Dr.D.K.Hema Hari, husband-wife duo, are founders of Bharath Gyan (www.bharathgyan.com) a forerunner in Indian Civilization Knowledge Studies, with a mission to raise awareness about the knowledge, practices and global connects of the Indian Civilization over millennia, from an Indic Perspective.

Each place has its glories. Similarly, Kasi and Tamilagam too glow with their respective glories. The name Kasi itself means to Glow. The Glow of Kasi has spread all over the land. The Glow of Kasi spread to Tamilagam too many, many millennia ago.

This book traces some of the glowing factors of Kasi that have reached Tamilagam. This compilation on the connect between Kasi and Tamilagam, is not about just a set of data points to be connected.

It is an effort to present people with connections that will lift their thoughts to a higher plane, inspire them and elevate them to greater heights as a well-connected, well-rounded Indian, a true Bharati.

It is to open their eyes by the Grace of Divine Visalakshi, to see and appreciate the beauty that lies in how geography, language, culture, philosophy and spirituality roll into one another and as we climb to higher levels and planes, the differences merge to present a homogenous picture which, as we climb even higher fuses to form a glow.

A glorious glow! The Glow of Kasi can be felt across the Tamil land too in names of places, people, local legends, the tone of measure, cultural expressions and so on.

It is this glow which has attracted people from Tamilagam to Kasi and helped them bond together to jointly keep the glow alive across times for generations to relish.
