Kashmir to Karachi has been written as a fulfillment of a long cherished dream of writing a book. It holds a different style, a self-narrative for oral history written on paper to authenticate. The book carries a fascinating perception of experiences, stored in the depth. Retrieving experience and linking it with present as a comparative phenomenon, which had made it particularly interesting. Author has tried to obtain common interest by using simple language, avoiding philosophical highs that with time have become part of her expression as a student of Psychology.
Nighat Hafiz has taught Psychology in various degree colleges of Kashmir for more than 35 years after completing her B.A. Honors from Kashmir University and Masters in Psychology from the University of Karachi.
A broadcaster, she has written and read short stories and talks pieces for Radio Kashmir, authored a drama serial, Aaina for Doordarshan and a series of articles for newspapers, magazines and local dailies.
