Somedays, even Sunrises differently with inklings of effulgence multifold intuiting in us special messages and momentous events in galore to follow. Yes, that was the day 20th Jan 2022. In turn, in a serene and sweet evening on that day, the folios of the annals of the History fluttered open to record the memoirs of the day when the Honourable M.K.Stalin, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu chose to promulgate and inaugurate the Advisory Committee to the Tamil Nadu Hindu Religious and Endowment Department. And it was to bring the proposal enunciated in the relevant G.O. No.4 dt 6-1-2022 into reality.
During the smooth sailing of the proceedings of the meeting, all the members in one exulted in high spirits, under the guidance, unparallel, of the Chief Minister and the Honourable P.K.Sekar Babu, the Minister of H.R. & C.E., resolved nine (9) resolutions, each glittering as gems of purpose. Under item 6, of them, it was resolved to bring out valuable publications, everlasting in times to come, rich in Agama, temple culture, and literature related whatever worth the name both in Saivite and Vaishnavite religions, to stay put on the scintillating horizon of them to boast of.
At this juncture, it is to note, H.R. & C.E. has already to its credit of having an archive of publications, valuable though, sparse in reserve, especially in Agama and English renderings. It is therefore imperative now, true to the intent of the resolution and demands to facelift the status to new heights and welcome dimension both in content and concepts, qualitatively and quantitatively to bring more influx of purposeful devotees into the ambit.
For one, transferring the treasure of knowledge and culture par excellence of this Tamil vein and values to the English speaking people is to be given thought and impetus, which done with, would break open the flood-gates to a new horizon, the worldover spiritually.
First in the line that comes to the fore in mind is an English rendering of the great spiritual work namely Kandhar Anuboothi authored by St. Arunagirinathar of period circa 15 BC, and he, as an author of the book, has left us to the posterity, as will of gnosis, so to say, potent fully with high spiritual messages, secretive so far.
Fortunately, to put our intent come true we have Dr.M.P.Sathiyavel Muruganar close at hand, who is also a member of the Advisory committee already vested with the responsibility, resolved under item 6 said Infra. It is learnt that he has already in his store-house a publication on the subject that too desirably in English.
At this juncture, some words are due to be noteworthy in this regard. The English rendering of the book tiled as Kandhar Anuboothi as authored by Dr.M.P.Sathiyavel Muruganar is found with translation from Tamil to English so facile and fidelity kept to the original with astounding skill, all his own.
True, the matter relating to the spiritual sphere are abstract and too sublime to bring down to the ken of plebeians, of ordinary understanding which tough task has been found very much agilely, eloquently and successfully met with by the author.
Thanks due to the author for having alacritously spared this book to the Department for publication, as would serve for the good many everlasting repercussions in the spiritual domain, consisting of both pundit and plebian equally.
Hope, this book of pabulum would elicit the same delightful reading experience from all alike.
