Set in the early 4th century, this is the story of two princes of the powerful ancient Indian kingdom of the Guptas.

Princes Rama and Chandra are the sons of Emperor Samudragupta. Often called the Napolean of India, Samudragupta was both an invincible warrior and a faultless ruler - chivalrous, disciplined and moralistic. While Prince Chandra is the ideal prince, hardworking and able, Prince Rama is the proverbial prodigal son who leans towards a life of luxury. Chandra is trapped in a web of deceit by his jealous elder brother and has to fight several life-and-death battles to the throne. It is a journey fraught with deceit, intrigue and untold drama.

Vani Mahesh has a deep-rooted interest in Hindu mythology and ancient Indian history. She is the author of Stories of Creation - From the Brahma Purana and Saptarshi - The Seven Supreme Sages, published by Amar Chitra Katha. She has written The Glory of Shiva Purana, Volume 1, published by Sri Ramakrishna Math. Her novel A Kingdom for His Love is based on a play by Bhasa, a first-century dramatist. Her latest novel, Meet Me in the Middle, has been published by Black Ink and HarperCollins.

A software engineer by profession, Vani owned and ran EasyLib.com, the first online library in India, for thirteen years. She lives in Bangalore with her husband and two daughters.
