पुस्तक परिचय ज्योतिप्रसाद अगरवाला को आधुनिक असम में असमिया रेनेसीं अथवा पुनर्जागरण के उज्ज्वलतम प्रतीक के रूप में समझा और जाना जाता है। उन्हें असम का 'टैगोर' भी कहा जाता है। वे एक साथ राजनैतिक क्रांतिकारी, पत्रकार, कवि-गीतकार, कहानीकार, स्थापत्यविद्, नृत्यशास्त्र विशारद, चलचित्र निर्माता, संस्कृतिविद् और समाज समीक्षक सभी कुछ थे। जीविकोपार्जन के लिए ज्योतिप्रसाद के पूर्वज राजस्थान से प्रवास करके असम आए थे। अपने पूर्वजों से संस्कृति-चेतना विरासत में पाए ज्योतिप्रसाद ने असम में सांस्कृतिक गतिविधियों की जो मशाल जलाई तो फिर वह आज तक जल रही है। ज्योतिप्रसाद और उनके परिवार की समस्त सांस्कृतिक गतिविधियों का मूक साक्षी था तेजपुर स्थित उनका पैतृक निवास 'पकी'। लेखक ने इसी 'पकी' का मानवीकरण कर असमिया में संस्कृति के पुनरुद्धारक ज्योतिप्रसाद अगरवाला प्रभृत बहुआयामी व्यक्तित्व पर यह जीवनीपरक उपन्यास लिखा है, जो निश्चय ही हिंदी समाज को भी समान रूप से रुचेगा और ग्राह्य भी होगा।

लेखक परिचय असम में जन्मे, पले-पढ़े लेखक डॉ. साँवरमल सांगानेरिया एक अथक यायावर हैं। पूर्वोत्तर में, ब्रह्मपुत्र के किनारे पैदा होने के नाते इनके लेखन में भी ब्रह्मपुत्र-सी रवानगी भरी हुई है। 'ब्रह्मपुत्र के किनारे-किनारे' (भारतीय ज्ञानपीठ), 'अरुणोदय की धरती पर' (हैरिटेज फाउंडेशन, गुवाहाटी), 'मेघों के देस में' तथा 'लोहित के मानसपुत्र : शंकरदेव' (दोनों रा.पु. न्यास से प्रकाशित) उनकी महत्वपूर्ण पुस्तकें हैं। सन् 2012 में जे.जे.टी. विश्वविद्यालय द्वारा मानद डी.लिट्. की उपाधि प्राप्त डॉ. सांगानेरिया हिंदी के अलावा असमिया, बाँग्ला और अंग्रेजी भाषाओं के भी जानकार हैं। राष्ट्रभाषा प्रचार समिति, वर्धा से 'कोविद' की उपाधि प्राप्त लेखक को अनेक पुरस्कार-सम्मान प्राप्त हैं, जिनमें महाराष्ट्र सरकार का 'साने गुरुजी राष्ट्रीय जीवन गौरव पुरस्कार' भी शामिल है। लेखक की लगभग 25 वर्षों की लेखन-यात्रा में प्रस्तुत पुस्तक 'ज्योति की आलोक यात्रा' उनकी सातवीं पुस्तक है। कुछ वर्ष मुंबई में रहे; संप्रति, गुवाहाटी में रहकर स्वतंत्र लेखन कर रहे हैं।
