About the Book The present thesis is a modest attempt to explore, examine compare and contrast the adaptations of literary classics from script to screen. These texts have been made into films which have created a mark in the history of cinema. With the help of these selected texts an attempt would be made to draw out individual conclusions and examine them for the role that they have played in society. Each chapter is based on one novel and the movie that has been made on that novel. The chapter planning is such that after the introduction there would be five chapters individually based on one novel and movie respectively. The order of the chapters is selected on the chronological order based on the date of publication of the novel. The conclusion follows after five chapters. The findings of all the chapters shall be based on various approaches used in English literature like the Feminist approach, Formalistic approach, Structural approach, Cultural approach, Moral approach, Historical approach, Post colonial approach and also the Interview method.

About the Author Dr. Eeshani Sarswat is an expert in the field of Business Communication, Communication skills, English literature and Event Management. She has been responsible for the overall personality development and soft skill enhancement of students as well as professionals from the corporates. Her forte lies in being a notable Public speaker, possessing impressive soft skills, providing tips on image management giving consultancy and counseling to individuals and companies both.

A gold medalist and a university rank holder, she pursued her Honor's degree in English from St. Bedes college Shimla. Thereafter completed her post graduate degree In English literature from Panjab University Chandigarh followed by an M. Phil degree Further went on to win a Gold medal in a diploma in PR and Event management. Her doctoral research has been an interdisciplinary work of English Literature and Cinematic studies.
