Of these, at least three will remain etched in the memory of the people of South India for their sheer magnitude and the tremendous spiritual power imbued in them by Swamiji. The Maha Gaja Pooja in 1987: worship of 108 gigantic male tuskers - all assembled at one venue in Coimbatore, The One Crore Siva Panchakshara Japa in 1991: chanting of the holy name of God, 'Om Nama Sivaya ten million times during a single night at Tiruvannamalai in which 7000 sadhus and saints participated. His constant refrain is 'Santhosham (meaning, joy or happiness in almost every Indian language). In accordance with the Will of His Master, Parabrahma Sadguru Om Sri Siddhar Swamigal, He has dedicated His life to elevate the entire humanity to Divine 'santhosha" or Satchitananda. Swamiji's mother, Mathaji Siddhar, was a great saint Both Her children, Swamiji and His sister renounced the world at an early age and took to the ascetic path. Swamiji is a household name in Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry on account of His regular spiritual discourses and articles in both the visual and print media.
I am glad to see that the book entitled, 'Jnana Gita' earlier published in Tamil in the year 1993 is being now translated and published in English for the benefit of seekers of 'Brahma Gyan overseas. This book is a meaningful compilation of basic and essential tenets of an ethical code of spirituality in terse but simple, beautiful and plain form for the easy understanding of even a lay and ordinary common man culled out from the various discourses, dissertations, benedictory addresses, deliberation and disclosure of divine experiences of revered and worshipful siddha Master Swami Omkaranandha, rendered from time to time by way of clarification and guidance to His followers, devotees and seekers of Truth. Human birth has always been acclaimed as a rare and precious gift and opportunity bestowed upon an individual to practice, evolve and steadily progress spiritually by observing detachment, quietude and renunciation of mind, through the process of adhering to Satya, Dharma, Shanti, Prema and Ahimsa, mastering the 'Saranagati Sastra', the path of self surrender, not only to overcome the delusion of mind or Maya but also imbibe the essentials of 'Para Vidya' or transcendental knowledge and wisdom which inevitably helps to liberate from rebirth and attain the acme of Supreme and perennial Bliss or Ananda. This book would serve not only as a good guide but also as an active, reliable and practical companion to all genuine and bonafide seekers to readily help themselves to regulate, streamline and master the art and technique to majestically march on the path of righteousness. Anyone who scans through this book with due care, caution and concentration and deeply deliberate upon what has been read and reread, the practical advice tendered, formulae enunciated and mechanics explained therein, is bound to experience and enjoy the eternal spiritual values and wisdom and achieve without fail the pinnacle of human perfection and ultimately become a 'Jivan Mukta' in the present life itself. Swami Omkaranandha, a silent sage who I have the good fortune of observing closely is committed, devoted and has completely dedicated himself to the onerous but divine task of preparing human beings for the real and only object and mission of human life, with his cool, dispassionate and pragmatic approach - desireless himself and with no striving for any personal end. The release of this book is yet another milestone in the achievements of Swami Omkaranandhaji and the avowed mission undertaken to serve humanity. May the blessings and merciful grace of Sadguru Gnana Siddhar Swamigal, Sri Mathaji Siddhar and Swami Omkaranandhaji be ever with everyone who come across as well as read this treasure trove of spirituality in their endeavors to experience self realization and enjoy the bliss of Ananda, in communion with the Almighty Lord.
