Introduction to the Study of Hindu Doctrines is a translation of Rene Guenon's French work 'Introduction generale a letude des doctrines Hindoues. In a sense, the book can serve as an introduction to all Rene Guenon's works. To anyone not already acquainted with the comprehensive nature of the author's point of view, the title of the present hook can only afford a comparatively restricted idea or its scope. In contrast to the Orientalists, the author starts out with quite other ends in view. requiring an entirely different method for their realization as WeII as an entirely different angle of approach. This book will serve as a key to the understanding of any of the traditional doctrines. or of them all.
Rene Guenon (1886 - 1951) was a French scholar well-known for his Oriental works and is considered to be an important writer in the Traditionalist School of philosophy.
