An Introduction to the Study of the Gita consists of three illuminating lectures delivered by Swami Ranganathanandaji, Vice-President, Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission in February-March 1946 under the auspices of the now defunct Ramakrishna Society, Hyderabad, Sind, Pakistan. The lectures appeared subsequently in May-June 1946 and February 1947 issues of the Vedanta Kesari, a monthly journal of the Ramakrishna Order published from Sri Ramakrishna Math, Mylapore, Madras. It was later brought out in book form by the Ramakrishna Mission, Shillong, in 1950 and by Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture, Calcutta, in 1969. The book was out of print for quite some time. We are grateful to the Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture for according us permission to publish the book from now onwards. It is hoped that the book will contine to help its readers understand the eternal message of the Bhagavad-Gita.
