What ails us? Why are we unhappy? Why do we suffer? The Upanishads call us Amritasya Putrah, scions of immortality. But we struggle to be happy. Why is it so? Where are we going wrong? This is because we do not know how to conduct ourselves in this world. Though we are endowed with divine virtues we do not practise it. Ignorance about Self has enveloped our intellect. Though we are born to be blissful we lead a life of misery. Our thought process is very important in this regard. When we think of something, we become the object of thought.

Sadguru Sri Sri Arjun says, "Ignorance is the cause of sufferings." Ignorance leads to desire; desire leads to wrongdoings which leads to suffering.

This book is a compilation of some of the spiritual discourses of Sadguru Sri Sri Arjun. He is the founder of Divya Darshan - The Philosophy Divine. Divya Darshan lays stress on living harmoniously in society by practising divine virtues and learning about Self to know one's true nature.

Sadguru Sri Sri Arjun says, "You never welcome woes but your ignorance brings them to you. You are absolutely divine. Therefore, pursue divine knowledge, desire only divinity, contemplate on divinity and then only divine bliss will be bestowed upon you."

He further says, "Knowledge paves the way to Dharma and Dharma to freedom (moksha)." Elucidating further he explains, "Knowing the Law of Eternity is knowledge and observance of the same is Dharma. Without self-knowledge it is impossible to attain bliss and freedom, the ultimate goal of everyone."

Rabindranath Mohanty is one of the direct disciples of Sadguru Sri Sri Arjun. He was initiated into Divya Darshan in 1984 by Sadguru. He is the Managing Trustee of Divya Darshan Charitable Trust. He is also the Vice President of Divya Darshan Sangha. He has written several articles and books on Advaita Philosophy in English and Odia. He has rendered the English version of Sadguru's 'Divya Darshan - The Philosophy Divine', biography of Sadguru titled 'Diamond in the Hills', discourses of Sadguru titled "Truth Knowledge Bliss' and 'Ignorance Sins Sufferings.

Life we live is a great puzzle or mathematical problem full of actions and reactions, rights and wrongs, hopes and frustrations and so on. Finding out a right answer is a continuous challenge for all of us. We all are surrounded by people and different creatures of varying levels of knowledge and qualities. We come across different trying situations and circumstances from which we have to wriggle ourselves out to reach our divine destination.

The secret formula or the guiding principle to face different situations is observance of Dharma in its true spirit. Therefore, we must know first what Dharma is so that we can observe the same perfectly well in order to reach our goal.

Here is Divya Darshan-The Philosophy Divine, propounded by Sadguru Sri Sri Arjun, that presents for the benefit of entire mankind true knowledge based on Advaita Siddhanta in a very lucid manner by which man can arouse his inert powers within, blossom latent divine virtues while observing the Law of Eternity for taking care of not only his own existence but also ensuring a happy and harmonious social living ultimately to get rid of all illusions together with the associated sufferings.

We are glad to say that Sri Rabindranath Mohanty has been doing the English versions of Sadguru Sri Sri Arjun's philosophy which was originally in the Odia language. He brought out first the English version of Sadguru's complete philosophy under the title Divya Darshan-The Philosophy Divine in the year 2017. Sadguru's complete biography was brought out by him under the title of Diamond in the Hills in the year 2019. A couple of months back he made the English version of Sadguru's discourses under the title "Truth Knowledge Bliss'. The present book titled 'Ignorance Sins Sufferings' also contains Sadguru's discourses arranged properly for an easy understanding of the deep philosophical thoughts.

We place on record our sincere appreciation of the noble efforts of Sri Mohanty in reflecting the divine knowledge of Sadguru in English which, we are confident, would reach a wide range of readers.
