This book is a fascinating memoir of the author who served as an orderly of a number of Sessions Judges in the state of Punjab. The job of an orderly proved to be too demanding, and more importantly, a drain on his self-respect. The book narrates in detail the rather dehumanising expectations at his work place, and how this all led to his sense of self-discovery leading him to quit his job of Judge's Orderly. In different episodes, the book can be read and enjoyed as light satirical, often self-mocking, humourous prose narratives that move the reader at multiple levels. It is really for the credit of the author that from being an anonymous orderly he metamorphosed into becoming a renowned writer and musician thereby becoming a role model and inspiration for the contemporary generation as well as readers.
