Book Description
About The Book

Islam is a doctrine concerned with respect, tolerance, justice and equality; the Islamic concepts of freedom and human rights are imbedded in the faith as in the Oneness of Allah. If humankind is to live in peace and security, he or she must obey the commands of Allah.

Allah says in the Holy Quran: “O you who believe! Stand out firmly for Allah, be just witnesses, and let not the enmity and hatred of others make you avoid justice. Be just; that is nearer to piety, and fear Allah. Verily, Allah is well acquainted with what you do.”

This book is based on Quran, Sunnah and as practised by Prophet Mohammed. (s.a.w.) and his companions.

This comprehensive and authentic book should prove to be a valuable reference tool for intellectuals, scholars, social workers, politicians, bureaucrats, human rights activists and of course, the policy makers.

Introduction

Allah Almighty is the Creator, Master and real Patron of the Universe and Man, He alone is Man's Ruler, He alone has the right to give Man Faith (Dien) and Law (system of belief and practice) and judge the disputes of man and tell what truth is and what falsehood is. No other being has any right whatever to be man's lawgiver. In other words, like the natural sovereignty, the sovereignty with regard to lawmaking also is vested only in Allah. No man or creature, apart from Allah, can be the bearer of this sovereignty. And if a person does not recognize and accept this Divine rule of Allah, it is merely futile for him to recognize the natural sovereignty of Allah.

Islam is an Arabic word, derived from a root word which means both 'peace' and 'submission'. It thus connotes the attainment of peace, here and hereafter, through submission to Allah, or in other words, through conformity to His will. A person who thus submits is a Muslim. In the Quran (the scripture of Islam) the appellation "Muslim" is applied to all the righteous.
