About the Book:
The sole aim of a physician (homeopath) is to cure the patient rapidly, gently and permanently. To achieve this aim, they must find out what is curable in the disease and what is curative in medicine. For the physician, the disease means the totality of its symptoms. In homeopathy, there is no disease named like influenza or typhoid, but a sum total of the symptoms of a disease. This totality of symptoms is the only guide to the selection of a remedy.
There are already in existence a number of material medicas. Actually every homeopath writes his own material medica. The reason behind it is: "Principle once fixed remains static - but time, circumstances and human experience with that principle in particular goes on enhancing - resulting in an analysis of the principle, expansion of new dimensions and new explanations."
The book, in two parts, has a special feature, "a brief synopsis of the Organon of Medicine" of Hahnemann. All symptoms of a drug included in this book have been taken from leading homeopathic authorities. In this book, a medicine is divided under seven subheadings, all interdependent and interrelated. There is introduction of a medicine with its pharmacopoeia in brief, and its family; general action of a medicine upon healthy human organism and disease symptoms; personality of a patient; clinical symptoms; general symptoms; and Black Letter symptoms.
