The book 'Holy Quran and the Orientalists' is an attempt to provide a brief information about the some excellent works on the Quranic literature by the Orientalists. It not only provides quick information about the life and academic career of the writers but also contains reviews of their selected works. The book includes discussions on the topics of the relation between the Islam and the Orientalists, Orientalists writings on introduction, translation, glossary, themes and exegesis of Holy Quran. It also contains a list of other works by the Orientalists exclusively on Holy Quran as well the response as reaction of the Muslims against the writings of the Orientalists. The book is not only helpful for the students and scholars of Islamic studies but also for general readers.

It is a pleasure for me to write these few introductory lines about the book in your hand. It has been penned by a very bright student of our department, who is at present a research scholar. Besides this short book, Mr. Faisal Mustafa has to his credit many research papers, which have been published in the research journals.
The present work deals with a very sensitive topic. Thanks God the Muslim Ummah has now started recognizing the services of the orientalists, and their contributions to Islamic studies, although there are some points on which the Muslim readers still do not agree with them.
Like a true seeker of knowledge, Faisal has tried his best not to be biased in his approach. I hope his efforts will be appreciated, and the book will earn a good name among the readers.
