About the Author
Swami Jitatmananda is a monk of the Ramakrishna Order. After graduating in M.A. (English) in 1964, he joined the Ramakrishna Order. Previous to that, he was a student of Chemistry Hons. in Calcutta Presidency College. In 1970 the Swami acted as principal of the Mission's two public schools, Ramkrishna Mission Vidyalaya, Narendrapur, Calcutta and Ramkrishna Mission Vidyapith, Deoghar, Vihar. In 1976 he acted as the principal of Mission Degree Science College at Pahara, West Bengal, and then as the Deputy Director of the School of Indian and Foreign Languages at Ramakrishna Matt, Hyderabad. He was also the editor of the Mission's English Journal (Monthly) Prabuddha Bharata published from the Advaita Ashram, Mayavati, Himalayas. At the moment, the Swami is engaged in a huge rehabilitation project of the Mission, for the cyclone-hit people of Andhra Pradesa.

The Swami visits universities and institutions of scientific research in India and speaks on the correlation of Vedanta and Modern Science.

This book Holistic Science and Vedanta is a collection of six editorials and three articles printed in Prabuddha Bharata, the monthly English journal of the Ramakrishna Mission, started by Swami Vivekananda in 1896.
