Who am I? Why do the threefold miseries W always give me trouble? This is the question of paramount importance for someone in the human form of life. This is also the inquiry made by Sanātana Gosvāmi when he met Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu in Prayāga. Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu responded by saying jīvera 'svarūpa' haya-krsnera 'nitya-dāsa' [Cc. Madhya 20.108] - "It is the living entity's constitutional position to be an eternal servant of Krsna." It is the living entity's eternal position to serve the Lord; therefore to help one get release from material bondage is to awaken one to the dormant understanding that he is the eternal servant of Krsna. The individual soul, is eternally part and parcel of the Supreme Lord.
Spiritual life means to accept this position of a spirit soul and get trained to serve out of real love. Everyone wants love. There are so many signboards, so many papers advertising love. But there is no love. This is illusion. It is all lust. Love for intoxication, love for sex, etc. But actual love is applicable only to Krsna, with God. To love means to love Krşņa, because we are created for that purpose.
