About the Author:

Prof. Dr O.P. Jaggi, an eminent medical scientist, is the former Dean of the Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Delhi, and the Head of the Department of Clinical Research at Vallabh Bhai Patel Chest Institute one of the leading research institutes in Asia. He has served as Senior Consultant Physician to the Government of Nigeria. He is the President of the Foundation for Total Health-Care and President of Self-Care for Asthma Foundation.

During his professional life extending over 30 years, he has been an ardent advocate of preventive medicine and of demystifying medicine and medical facts. He has travelled widely and researched on health problems under different environments. Though a student and a practitioner of the Modern System of Medicine, he has nurtured a keen interest in alternative systems of medicine and healing arts, and their complementary role in preventing and treating health problems.

He is the author of History of Science, Technology, and Medicine in India, a 15 volume project which is regarded as an authoritative work on the subject. His other books are listed on pate 208 of this book. He lives in Delhi and commands a flourishing practice as a consultant physician, specializing in allergies and respiratory problems.
