Our country is beset with mushrooming growth of religious preachers. Those who may not be familiar even with the names of the Vedas and scriptures are flourishing their businesses on the pretext of religion. Creating confusion about initiation, occultism or sectarianism, they are beguiling innocent, gullible people and as a result, the true form of religion is being perverted.
In such circumstances it is absolutely necessary to understand who should be accepted as a Guru and the true meaning of receiving a Guru mantra, otherwise known as diksha.
Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj is very articulate, clear and elaborative on this subject. Reading this book should not leave any impression on the mind of the reader that the content has been stated for a particular sect or religious preacher. Whatever he speaks is in complete agreement with the Vedas and other scriptures. He always nurtures in the minds of his devotees never to speak ill even against a vilifier and keep malice to none, least they will be called gurudrohi (hostile to Guru).
