Each asana, with its own set of unique meditations, breathing exercises and prayers, has been thoughtfully paired with knowledge about specific spirit animals, flowers and trees. Children can become little yogis by learning how to balance all the five tattvas (elements of nature) and attaining not only an equilibrium in life, but also the strength and skills to achieve their dreams and become strong leaders in a brighter, loving and peaceful world.
Barkha has imbued her professional and creative pursuits with her own spiritual beliefs to create a confluence of art and yoga. The primary goal is to help kids flourish by inculcating a sense of yogic discipline and artistic creativity, while being one with nature. Barkha's book is inspired by the philosophy of 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam' (the world is one family) from the Maha Upanishad. The adage conceptualizes a world without boundaries where beauty, love, light and secrets of self-actualization are unlocked through the ancient tool of yoga and a balanced approach to happiness.
This is a timeless book for people across different countries and cultures. It offers a unique opportunity for parents to bond with their beloved kids.
over yoga and help impart a strong value system to future generations. Barkha aims to equip parents and children to live harmoniously and with self-reliance and resilience. Discover the divine grace and learn how to imbibe inner strength.
I needed a more balanced point of view, so I turned to my cherished mentor and guide, and a true 'yogini', Hansa ji, or Hansa ma, as she is fondly called by everyone. It was as if an inspiration had been waiting to descend. She took me for a walk around the yoga institute and heard me as I shared my idea of writing a yoga book for kids. My mother and husband have also wanted me to use my creativity for a higher purpose. Astonishingly, Hansa ma believed in me and encouraged me to immediately go ahead with the project. She guided me with her thoughts, wisdom, love and encouragement.
Yoga enabled me to access and connect with what seemed like a deeper voice within, which helped me bring my soul's work to reality. I would love to thank my warrior of light, my father, who has always believed in the dreams of his daughters and has been our bedrock of strength and inspiration. Rahul, my world, has managed to bring out the most creative side of me. He has guided me and been my pillar of strength and support, besides, of course, stopping me from day dreaming! I am also thankful to my little son Abhinav, my heart, who has inspired me infinitely to dig deep within myself. I wish this book always inspires you.
