Book Description
About the Book

The Garhwal Himalayas - gaunt in their stark, almost masculine and pristine beauty have been described as the abode of the Gods and a journey through these captivating mountains threaded together by the mighty Ganga is as fascinating as it is mesmerising.

The journey into the majestic Garhwal Himalayas is an exploration into the known and the unknown with the dynamic and revered rivers Ganga and Yamuna giving contextual sanctity to a tradition.

The tiraths of Badrinath and Kedarnath and Hem Kund Sahib in the mountains are sentinels of a nation and witness to its cultural moorings, with sparkling icy glaciers glowing in the dark and flower spangled meadows sculpted out of meandering waters. It is here that faith of the believer is tested and rocks deified and elements defined.
