The Book entitled as "Garbha Vigyana" is undertaken in which collected Ayurvedic and Modern literature can be properly summarized as follows. The intention of this work is to study the concept of conception according to different acharys giving more concentration towards garbha vigyana. Conceptual study of garbha sambhava samagri, descriptive study on each samagri and elaborative description about beeja is given. Modern review comprises Reproductive Anatomy of male and female, Gametogenesis, Gametes and Effect of endocrine on Reproduction. The foremost principle of Garbha samagri will responsible for the production of healthy progeny which is the aim of human being. If any disturbed condition of any one of these i.e. in its anatomy and physiological function will becomes causative factor for infertility. Along with, there is a timely co-ordination in between garbha samagris to have a better progeny.
In summarizing above description it can be said that for achievement of conception proper time of ovulation, suitable functioning of male and female reproductive system, good and adequate nutrition, healthy sperm and ovum, perfect working course of nero-endocrinology, harmony of minds of couples are essential factors and part of this book.
Dr Swathi Chaturvedi has completed her graduation and MS (Ayurveda) from SDM College of Ayurveda & Hospital, Udupi affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of health sciences, Bengaluru, specialized in Prasuti Tantra Avum Stree Roga (Obstetrics and Gynecology). She has standardized various experimental models for proving evidence for the use of the Stree roga Therapies. She is currently working as Senior resident in the Department of Prasuti Tantra at Faculty of Ayurveda, Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi - Uttar Pradesh India. She has published many articles in reputed journals, also received many best scientific paper in various international Conferences.
I happy to learn that Dr. Swathi C Senior Resident of Prasuti Tantra has brought a book "GarbhaVigyana" where the basic concepts of Ayurvedic system of medicine and Modern medicine have been properly summarized and also critically analyzed. The intention of this work is to collect facts, written all traditional texts of Ayurveda, primarily garbhavigyana and their explanation in modem terms, so that a non-ayurvedic graduate can also understand about hygiene and wellness towards their reproductive system. She has focused more on different sansakaras related to child birth. Such book, is the demand of time, because most of the epigenetic changes takes place in the womb, at different stages of fetal growth, from the date of conception till birth. This books gives a message for healthy atmosphere for a pregnant women in terms of social, spiritual, medical and nutritional aspect.
Another important concept, covered in this book is about the causes and cure of infertility related problems both in male and female. Some salient points of this book can be used to do counseling of children and adolescents by their elderly, parents and teachers to prevent the illness in their adulthood. The scientific basis of holistic wellness for healthy progeny has also been covered in this book with reference to
effect of endocrine on Reproduction, because it is governed by psychosomatic aspect of each individual. Both mental and physical health’s are important and the same has been deliberated in detail here in terms of
