This book is based on the study of the Banwasi Seva Ashram, which has been working for sixty years in tribal areas of district Sonbhadra, U.P. The draft report on the Banwasi Seva Ashram (BSA) was submitted in August 2012 by Ms. Rita Singh on behalf of the WIZMIN Management Consultants, Kanpur. Dr. Ragini Prem, Secretary of the BSA circulated it among activists and intellectuals. We have received detailed comments from some of them including Dr. Prem herself. Several of them which require explanation of figures or are of factual nature have been incorporated in the revised report without affecting the findings, conclusion or objectivity of the report. Yet, there are some perspectival issues which need to be dealt separately. Therefore, a separate Epilogue has been added to the report. The WIZMIN team discussed some comments and made changes while finalizing the earlier draft itself. For further changes and Epilogue, however, only the author is responsible.
