This world is a battle ground. The moment you have stepped out of the house, you have entered the battle field. Sometimes, the house itself is the battle field. To escape the home front, we take on the world as a warrior, since we cannot win in the home front. During our whole life, everything is fixed by time and timings and we have to beat it. Beat it means we have to obey the timings. Wake up at right/ same time, catch the train or flight at right time, eat at right/same time and sleep at same time. Work for same period of time and get paid at same time. We forget we are free and human. We are more robots than anything. We are living against our basic nature. We have forgotten or do not even know what we are and who we are, consequently, we are miserable, we are unhappy and we suffer, since we live against our basic nature. There is no solution for our suffering unless we know who we are and what we have to do. Knowledge is freedom and knowledge is power.
Katha upanishat is all about knowing, about knowledge. The knowledge of the world, knowledge of the existence and about knowing oneself. If we know the whole world without knowing ourself, is there any meaning in our knowing. Katha Upanishat is about a young boy interested in knowledge goes to any extent to know the reality of existence. Those were the days when human beings could confront the gods and converse with the gods. They were sincere and honest in their pursuits. Now we have lost the cutting edge of our actions. We think something, do something else and our intention is something else. We need to know the fundamentals before we venture on our ego trips. We are just like a sand grain in the ocean beach.
