About the Book Full of Sufi wisdom "The Conference of the Birds" is in itself an inspirational work that does not just relate to the glories of the Bible or of the Holy Quran. It contains many statements of great philosophical importance. Not unlike the Jataka Tales or the Panchatantra this book provides us with a moral code that is easily understood by one and all.

Translated from the original French translation the moral advices given in this collection have lost very little of the unique flavor and depth of the original version. Such thoughts go beyond religion version. Such thoughts go beyond religion, creed and caste and conveys a universal message that goes beyond the everyday run of the mill thoughts. Originally titled Montiq Ut-Toir this work has been seen in many forms. Though some parts of the original text have been lost over the years the value of this work has not been lost.

About the Author Charles Stanley Nott (1887-1978) was an author, publisher, translator and a student of G I Gurdjieff. He first met Gurdjieff and A R Orage in New York in 1923. He spent time at the Institute for the Harmonious Development of Man and became a close student of Gurdjieff. He helped with the publication and distribution of Gurdjieff's first published book The Herald of Coming Good. He wrote two books on his life and experience with Gurdjieff, Orage, and P D Ouspensky.
