Meet the foolish jackal who thought he could fool others forever, the two snakes who fought with each other, and the wise crow who saved his friend. This fabulous collection of tales from the Panchatantra is sure to captivate!
The Panchatantra, written by the scholar Pandit Vishnu Sharma more than 5,000 years ago, is a well-loved collection of fables. According to legend, Sharma wrote these stories to awaken the intelligence of three ignorant princes.
Panchatantra is coined from two Sanskrit words: pancha meaning "five” and tantra meaning "strategies". It is a collection of five volumes of stories. Each volume starts with a story; then more stories are woven into the theme of the main story.
