We are living in peculiar period where many experiments go on, world over, to establish the scientific perfectness of Ayruveda from the modem point of view and a simultaneous negative propaganda against Ayurveda, generated due to stray incidents, spreads like a whirl wind, across the nooks and corners of the world Ayurvedic market. The situation can be handled effectively only when the Ayurvedic scholars adopt a two pronged model of research, which simultaneously involves two serious revivals — (i) revival of the hidden and forgotten ancient works in the field and (ii) revival of hidden and forgotten scientific approaches of the ancient “seeers”, which actually stand on par with the modern approaches, in many respects.
It is with this aim in mind that I-SERVE(Institute of Scientific Research on Vedas) has been formulating its Ayruvedic R&D projects since 2004. To facilitate collective thinking and constant studies, which are so vital for such R&D activities, I-SERVE has been organizing several group meetings, brain storming sessions, National seminars / Conferences etc., on these aspects of Ayurveda and has been brining out conference volumes when ever possible. Apart from this, I-SERVE has been carving out some practical experimental R&D projects on Ayurveda, mainly basing on the loud thinking’s mentioned above. I-SERVE is happy that premier scientific Institutions like Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (CSIR) Hyderabad, National Institute of Nutrition (ICMR), Hyderabad, M/s. Laila Impex, Vijayawada, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University, Hyderabad etc., are collaborating with I-SERVE, in some such Research and projects and thus encouraging the cause of Ayurvedic science. I-SERVE thanks all the sincere souls involved in such collaborations and cooperation’s.
To facilitate further thought process and to encourage new sparks in the same line, we are now bringing out some of the relevant important research papers, which were published earlier in our conference volumes, in the form of this volume by name “Exploring Hiden Aspects of Ayurveda” We are hopeful that this volume will be successful in generating new sparks in the senior researchers and in attracting new researches into this field. We profoundly thank all the authors of the papers included in this volume for their selfless services and are eager to bring out some more volumes of this sort, by including the papers, stored in our data bank.
We record our special thanks to M/s. EMESCO Books for collaborating with I-SERVE, in publishing this book.
