ESSENTIALS OF MEDITATION INTRODUCTION
Meditation is a continuous process of healing both for the Object (Patient) and the Subject (Healer). It is an age-old process hailed from the ancestors and Rishis. Actually the Rishis are the celestial bodies present in the cosmos descending periodically upon the Earth in physical bodies. The physical body is only an outer coat of the inner Light. They dwell on the plane of consciousness and descend upon Buddhic plane or the plane of light. In this plane they are called Dhyani Choahans, by the Tibetans, as mentioned by H.P. Blavatsky. Whether having a physical body or not, they emit the light of intelligence all over the cosmos. Generally it is difficult to receive that light directly by the people dwelling on mundane plane. Only a few selected people evolved as Initiates and Masters, can respond to these rays and translate them into the human language. From time to time, these Rishis or Masters send forth their instructions and messages and a few initiates receive and preach the same among the public. In India these messages are called "Vedic Hymns" in ancient days. A strange fact is that these Hymns when meditated upon tranquilize the mind into bliss, which is nothing but dissolving the mind into the waters of pure consciousness. Different people practice. it in different ways and hence there are as many types of meditation as many the number of human beings are upon the Earth.
