There are many Indian thinkers who have contributed a great deal to the political thought of the country. In these initial 10 volumes, an effort has been made to bring together keen players and their significant contributions to the political thought of India in an unbiased way. The authors included in this series are giants by themselves in the socio- political arena of the country. The set provides insight and critical an evaluation of the political thinkers.

A significant attempt has been made in this book to make a comprehensive study of the Political Thought of Sri Aurobindo. K.S. Bharathi did his Master's Degree in Gandhian Thought, Peace-Science, Economics, and Political Science. He also did Postgraduate Diplomas in Politics, Public Administration, Population Dynamics, Gandhian Thought, Tourism, and Telugu. He has contributed some articles in learned journals. There are many valuable books on Aurobindo. There is hardly any book attempting a comprehensive exposition and evaluation of the political thought of Aurobindo. This work seeks to provide a comprehensive exposition of the Political Thought of Aurobindo in a lucid manner.

Aurobindo is physically no more with us, but still he is present amongst us not only as a consciousness which guides and illumines but also as a dynamic presence in action. He is not a political thinker in the ordinary and limited sense of the word since his political thought is an integral part of his overall vision of Reality. The political thought of Aurobindo is an amalgam of religion, metaphysics, psychology and prophecy and cannot be considered in isolation from its affiliation above four subjects.

This book is an attempt to reconstruct and critically evaluate the political thought of Aurobindo. His political writings are significant not only because he was a great leader but also because they are imbued with the spirit of exalted patriotic fervour. He has taught the gospel of one world and the inner oneness of man in his Ideal of Human Unity book. His Human Cycle enunciates a psychological and meta- physical approach to the study of the evolution of human civilisation and culture.
